Join or leave a network

Join a network

  • Tap Settings > Networks > Join a Network

  • Enter the 6-digit code provided by your organisation

  • Select your role

  • Wait for your organisation to verify you

Leave a network

  • Close or transfer ownership of any chats you own (see ‘Create and Manage a Chat’ below)

  • Tap Settings > Networks > Leave a Network

Add, manage, block and remove users

Add users

  • Tap the information icon in the top-left of the Chats, Media or Calendar screen

  • Tap the green Add Users button

  • Share your network ID with new users manually (by telling them) or electronically (by using ‘Tap to Share’)

Manage users

  • Tap the information icon in the top-left of the Chats, Media or Calendar screen

  • Tap the yellow ‘Manage Users’ button

  • Select a user to manage

  • You can change the user’s role, title or status by tapping the drop-down menus

  • Then tap the green Save button

Block users (feature coming soon)

  • Tap the information icon in the top-left of the Chats, Media or Calendar screen

  • Tap the grey ‘Block Users’ button

  • Select the user you want to block

  • Explain to your network administrator why you are blocking the user

  • Tap the tick in the top-right of the screen

Remove users

  • Tap the information icon in the top-left of the Chats, Media or Calendar screen

  • Tap the red ‘Remove Users’ button

  • Select the user(s) you want to remove

  • Then tap the tick in the top-right of the screen

Create and manage a chat

Create a chat

  • Tap Chats then tap the + icon in the top-right of the screen

  • To create an individual chat, select a user and tap the tick in the top right of the screen

  • To create a group chat, select two or more users and tap the tick in the top right of the screen. Name the chat, choose a chat picture and tap the tick again

  • If you don’t see a + icon you do not have permission to create chats and will need to wait for another user to add you to a chat

Manage a chat

  • Open the chat you want to manage and tap the cog icon in the top right of the screen

  • If you are an owner of the chat you will see ‘Chat Options’ on the menu; tap this.

  • For individual chats you can control the feature availability in the chat, the times the chat is on/off, or close the chat.

  • For group chats you can do the same, plus you can control chat ownership and membership, and change the chat name and picture.

Send and interact with messages

Send a message

  • To send a text message tap the screen where it says ‘Type here…’, compose your message and tap the send arrow.

  • To send a voice note, tap the microphone to the left of where it says ‘Type here…’, record your note and tap ‘Send Message’.

  • To send a picture, video or document, tap the + icon to the left of the microphone icon, then capture or select the content you want to send

Interact with messages

  • Long press a message - this gives you various options including; reply to a message, forward a message, report or hide a message

  • Tap a message - this shows you message information, including who has seen a message and who has not

Search for messages

Search for text messages

  • To search all chats, go to the Chats screen, pull down the screen to reveal a search bar and enter your search term(s)

  • To search within a chat, open the relevant chat, tap the cog in the top-right, tap ‘Search Chat’ and enter your search term(s)

Search for media messages

  • To search all chats, go to the Media screen, select the type of media you are looking for, then scroll the screen to find it.

  • To search within a chat, open the relevant chat, tap the cog in the top-right, tap ‘Chat Media’, select the type of media you are looking for then scroll the screen to find it.

Add and edit a calendar event

Add a calendar event

  • You can add an event via the Calendar:

    • Tap the calendar icon at the bottom of the screen

    • Either tap the + icon in the top left of the screen

    • Or tap the day you want to add the event to, then tap the + icon

  • Alternatively you can add an event via a chat:

    • Open the chat you want to add the event to

    • Tap the cog in the top right

    • Tap ‘Add Calendar Event’

Edit calendar event

  • You can edit an event via the Calendar:

    • Tap the calendar icon at the bottom of the screen

    • Tap the day containing the event you want to edit

    • Tap the event then tap the ‘Edit’ button top right

  • Alternatively you can edit an event via a chat:

    • Open the chat containing the event you want to edit

    • Find the event you want to edit

    • Tap the event then tap the ‘Edit’ button top right

View and share media

View media

  • Tap the ‘Media’ icon at the bottom of the screen and select the type of media you want to view

  • Alternatively you can open a chat and tap the cog icon top right. Select the ‘Chat Media’ option and select the type of media you want to view

Share media

Within one of the ‘Media’ pages above:

  • Tap the ‘Select’ icon top right and choose the media you want to share

  • Tap the forward icon (bottom left) or export icon (bottom right)

Within a chat:

  • Long press the media you want to share

  • Tap export or forward

Set active hours

Individual active hours

  • Tap Settings > Active Hours

  • Tap the ‘My Active Hours Disabled’ toggle

  • Choose your active hours

  • Outside your active hours you will not receive notifications in the ChatPro app

  • You will still see new messages if you choose to open your app

Chat Active Hours

  • In a chat you own, tap the cog icon top right

  • Tap ‘Chat Active Hours’

  • Choose the active hours for the chat

  • Outside the active hours, no members of the chat will be able to send messages

  • Members will still be able to open the app and read messages

Manage your account

Instructions

  • In your app, tap Chats.

  • Open the chat containing the message you want to pin.

  • Press and hold the message you want to pin.

  • Tap the Pin option.

  • This message will now turn green and be the first message users see in the chat.

  • To un-pin the message, press and hold the message.

  • Tap the Un-pin option.

  • The message will return to it’s original place in the chat.

Update your app

Via the ChatPro app

  • Tap Settings > App Updates

  • If your app is up-to-date you will see a message ‘Your app is up-to-date’

  • If an update is available you will see a message ‘Tap to update your app’

Via your device app store

  • On your device, go to the App Store (Apple) or Play Store (Android).

  • Search for ChatPro.

  • Tap ‘Update’ if this button is visible.

  • If ‘Update’ is not available, it means your app is already up-to-date.
